Turns out that the Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 A102 which has been unveiled for a price of Rs 8500 is a downgrade from its predecessor rather than an upgrade. This is a pretty unusual move by Micromax which does not explain the pig in its teaser video, nor the reason as to why the Doodle 3 couldn’t have been branded with any other name.

6-inch 480 x 854p display as opposed to the 5.7-inch 1280 x 720p panel
on the older device. The latter happened to be launched for Rs 20000 or so
The Canvas Doodle 3 A102 comes loaded with an M!Doodle app which lets
you scribble images, smileys and what not and send them to friends. It
has a dual core chipset from MediaTek helping to keep its final cost low
and there’s 512MB of RAM along with 4GB ROM as well as 32GB microSD cad
support.
