DataWind to launch Rs. 2000 phone with free lifetime Internet


DataWind is planning to launch a Rs 2,000 smartphone in India with free lifetime Internet access. The company plans to launch the device before Diwali.

Datawind stated that the said the device will be based on Android operating system and have a 3.5 inch size. Datawind Executive Vice President Rupinder Singh stated that the company is in talks with three mobile operators for the lifetime free Internet offer but refused to divulge more details as the deal is yet to be finalised. The smartphone will be available exclusively through Indian online retailer Snapdeal.

Beautiful than the other two, Indian mobile vendor Spice has come up with its own version of the Android One smartphone named ‘Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498’. It’s build on Google’s recommended hardware and mostly the stock pure Android experience. The smartphone will be available exclusively with India’s largest online retailer Flipkart at a price tag of Rs 6299.
